Description

Overview
Patton’s Model 3124 delivers affordable network access with downstream rates up to 24 Mbps. When used with Patton’s OnSite™ 3101 CPEs, the ForeFront™ 3124 offers a complete solution for fault tolerant IP connectivity or on-demand, high-bandwidth IP services that provide streaming video, online gaming, multimedia applications, and multiple video channels on a single network connection to MxU environments (hotels, lodges, hospitals and more).

The 3124 offers complete ADSL, ADSL2 and ADSL2+ support including extended range operation, and enhanced download and upload speeds. The ForeFront™ 3124 DSLAM includes the intelligence needed to function as a complete single IP DSLAM, thereby providing unparalleled integration and fault tolerance in network deployments.

The ForeFront™ 3124 has 24 user-configurable ADSL/ADSL2/ADSL2+ ports with POTS splitters. The built-in POTS/ISDN splitter enables simultaneous life-line, always-on phone links and high-speed data over a single twisted-pair. The mini DSLAM’s traffic uplink is via an electrical 10/100/1000 Ethernet port.

The ADSL2+ IP DSLAM is designed with triple-play networks in mind. Reliable delivery of IP-based voice, video, and data services depend largely on the QoS metrics (configurable on a per-port basis). The Model 3124 supports IEEE 802.1p/Q VLAN priority classes. VLAN and VLAN priority ensure extension of subscriber VLAN networks. IGMP snooping maximizes efficient use of WAN bandwidth to detect and forward IP multicast traffic accordingly.

Features

  • Built-in Triple Play Support—ADSL2+ high-bandwidth downstream with Multicast support, IGMP snooping, and QoS included
  • Annex M—Additional upstream speeds to 3 Mbps accommodate symmetric VoIP traffic
  • QoS—Per PVC traffic classification with shaping and policing; 802.1p VLAN priority; ToS/DiffServ stripping and priority queuing
  • 24 ADSL2/2+ Ports—Right-size the deployment with the best port-per-DSLAM ratio. Built-in splitters included
  • SNMP/HTTP Management—SNMP/HTTP manageable from any global location including attached CPE units
  • Per-Port Configuration—To facilitate the provisioning and tailoring of services, ports are independently selectable to the individual DSL standard and required port speeds
